Join Our Team as a Senior Backend Engineer
About the Role
WeTravel is seeking a talented Senior Backend Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. This is a remote position based in Sweden, offering you the opportunity to work in a business-critical role within a rapidly growing company. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be part of a cross-functional and agile team of 5-7 people, collaborating closely with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the overall application lifecycle, focusing on coding and debugging.
- Work with cutting-edge technologies and libraries on a microservice-based architecture.
- Write clean, scalable, and efficient code.
- Develop automated tests to ensure business needs are met and allow for regression testing.
- Solve complex performance problems and architectural challenges.
- Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
Preferred Experience
- Proven experience managing large projects and system design.
- Strong object-oriented software design and development experience for distributed infrastructure systems.
- Proficiency in server-side programming languages, preferably Ruby.
- Experience with relational (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and non-relational (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB) databases.
- Experience with message brokers (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka, SQS).
- Deep knowledge of computer science fundamentals, algorithms, and data structures.
- Experience in defining solutions and designing containerized applications (Kubernetes) on Cloud (e.g., AWS, GCP) and on micro-services architecture.
