Backend Developer with Cloud and API Expertise

The Role

We are looking for a Backend Developer to join our Product Experience team, a multidisciplinary team responsible for our user-facing touchpoints, including mobile, desktop, and web apps. As a backend engineer, you will work on a wide range of user-centric projects alongside frontend engineers, product owners, UI/UX designers, machine learning experts, researchers, music experts, and analysts.

Responsibilities

Design and develop services needed to realize our product roadmap.
Improve, evolve, and replace existing services and APIs.
Ensure our systems remain performant, reliable, and cost-efficient.
Contribute to the team’s vision, strategy, and agenda.
Help the team grow by sharing knowledge and supporting each other.

Mandatory Requirements

Strong experience in designing and building reliable and performant services and APIs.
Knowledge and experience with various data storage and messaging solutions.
Strong experience with building cloud-native services (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
Well-versed in building robust and maintainable code.

Meriting Experience

General interest in music and/or music technology.
Experience with Git or another distributed source management system.
Previous experience with Scala and/or Go.
Kubernetes and Docker.
Experience with web development (React and/or React Native).
GraphQL APIs and libraries.
Automated testing.
Experience or interest in functional programming.
