The Role
We are looking for a Backend Developer to join our Product Experience team, a multidisciplinary team responsible for our user-facing touchpoints, including mobile, desktop, and web apps. As a backend engineer, you will work on a wide range of user-centric projects alongside frontend engineers, product owners, UI/UX designers, machine learning experts, researchers, music experts, and analysts.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop services needed to realize our product roadmap.
- Improve, evolve, and replace existing services and APIs.
- Ensure our systems remain performant, reliable, and cost-efficient.
- Contribute to the team’s vision, strategy, and agenda.
- Help the team grow by sharing knowledge and supporting each other.

Mandatory Requirements
- Strong experience in designing and building reliable and performant services and APIs.
- Knowledge and experience with various data storage and messaging solutions.
- Strong experience with building cloud-native services (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
- Well-versed in building robust and maintainable code.
Meriting Experience
- General interest in music and/or music technology.
- Experience with Git or another distributed source management system.
- Previous experience with Scala and/or Go.
- Kubernetes and Docker.
- Experience with web development (React and/or React Native).
- GraphQL APIs and libraries.
- Automated testing.
- Experience or interest in functional programming.
