Overview
Boeing is seeking a skilled Contract Software Developer - Back End to join our engineering team in El Segundo, CA. This role requires a U.S. citizen with active top secret SCI clearance. The successful candidate will be involved in developing robust back-end systems and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain high-quality software for back-end systems.
- Work with various programming languages including Python, Go, PHP, C#, and Java.
- Utilize developer tools such as git, linting tools, IDEs, Linux, AWS infrastructure, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Understand and implement relational database systems and principles (ACID, CAP, transactions, n+1 problem).
- Engage in API development and abstraction of core business logic from external facing entities and frameworks.
- Apply test driven development methodologies including unit testing, integration testing, and functional tests.
- Adhere to design patterns like MVC, SOLID, and layered/tiered architecture.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including CI/CD and deployment processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field.
- Previous professional experience with the listed programming languages and tools.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles (Inheritance, polymorphism, abstraction, encapsulation).
- Ability to generate UML documentation for traceability from design to implementation.
- Excellent communication skills.
Location
This position is based in El Segundo, CA, with the possibility to work out of Seal Beach, CA.
