Why This is an Exciting Role:
As a Junior AI/ML Engineer at Boeing Intelligence & Analytics, you will be responsible for providing application development and support to an ecosystem of big data apps in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Collection: Assist in gathering datasets from various sources.
- Data Cleaning: Handle missing data, remove duplicates, and ensure the dataset is ready for modeling.
- Data Transformation: Normalize or scale features and convert categorical data into numerical formats.
- Algorithm Implementation: Implement basic machine learning algorithms (e.g., regression, classification) using libraries like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
- Model Training: Run training processes on datasets, tune hyperparameters, and monitor performance metrics.
- Model Evaluation: Use validation techniques like cross-validation and calculate metrics (e.g., accuracy, precision, recall) to assess model performance.
- Feature Selection: Identify and select the most relevant features that will improve model accuracy.
- Feature Creation: Create new features from existing data that may enhance model predictions.
- Team Collaboration: Work with data scientists, senior engineers, and domain experts to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Documentation: Write clear and concise documentation for the code, models, and processes developed, ensuring reproducibility and knowledge sharing.
- Integration: Work with DevOps teams to integrate models into existing systems or pipelines.

Experience and Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:
- 2+ years of professional experience with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 0+ years of professional experience with a Master's degree or equivalent
- Additional experience will be considered in lieu of a degree

Required Skills:
- Hands-on experience with Python, Java, Jupyter, NumPy, Pandas, PyTorch, Scikit-learn
- CI/CD tool experience (Gitlab, Jenkins)
- Microservices Architecture
- Familiarity with OpenCV, TensorFlow, C#, MATLAB, JavaScript, Docker, MySQL

Desired Skills:
- Utilizing Cloud Platform technologies, preferably AWS
- Big Data Tools (Elasticsearch, Splunk, NiFi, Kafka)
- Agile/Scrum experience
- Experience building and deploying Docker-based applications
Work Environment:
- Telework/Remote Availability: Hybrid work schedule; 16-hours per week approved
- Work Locations: New Providence, NJ; Annapolis Junction, MD; Elkridge, MD; Washington, DC, Reston, VA
Compensation:
- Salary Range: €111,000 - €125,000 per year
