Senior Media Data Engineer

About the Role

Zalando’s Media Team within the Marketing department is seeking a Senior Media Data Engineer to join their dynamic team. As a Senior Media Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing automation tools to launch high-budget brand awareness and consideration campaigns. This position is integral to our in-house Media team and reports to the Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities

Develop and improve internal tools and products associated with advertising systems.
Optimize campaigns and automate creative procedures.
Transform data and establish custom databases that link to advertising platforms to generate real-time ads.
Work with various internal and external APIs, including graphAPI (Meta), Google Drive API, Google DV360 API, YouTube API, TikTok API, and more.
Collaborate with engineering teams to extract webshop data from internal APIs into custom databases.
Construct specialized databases containing product details for real-time ad updates across multiple platforms.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in full-stack development with a tech stack that includes Python, Golang, NodeJS, JVM languages for backend, and ReactJS for frontend.
Knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL) and solid SQL skills.
Experience with analytical tools like Google Analytics, Microstrategy, BigQuery, and their APIs.
Proficient in version control systems (Git).
Experience with cloud-based deployment and development (AWS, Google Cloud, Kubernetes, Containerisation).
Knowledge of RestAPI, GraphQL.
Basic knowledge of ML/AI approaches and tools.
Experience in Software/Solution Architecture and building high-load systems is a plus.
Previous experience with advertising systems (Facebook, Google ads, DV360, Smartly) is a plus.

Ability to create a product roadmap and collaborate with stakeholders to achieve desired business outcomes.

Analytical Skills

Expertise in prioritizing the product backlog using both qualitative and quantitative data.
Enable the product team to track relevant metrics that inform a data-driven product strategy.
