Job Overview
Meta is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our Product Analytics team in San Francisco, California. As a Data Engineer, you will work collaboratively with software engineering, data science, and product management teams to optimize growth, strategy, and user experience for our vast user base. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with some of the brightest minds in the industry and tackle complex data challenges at a scale few companies can match.
Responsibilities
- Data Architecture: Conceptualize and own the data architecture for multiple large-scale projects, evaluating design and operational cost-benefit tradeoffs.
- Framework Development: Create and contribute to frameworks that enhance the efficacy of logging data, working with data infrastructure to resolve issues.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to understand data needs and represent key data insights meaningfully.
- Data Management: Define and manage SLA for all data sets in allocated areas of ownership.
- Security and Governance: Implement security models based on privacy requirements, address data quality issues, and evolve governance processes.
- Data Models and Visualizations: Design, build, and launch sophisticated data models and visualizations supporting multiple use cases.
- Data Integration: Solve challenging data integration problems using optimal ETL patterns and frameworks.
- Process Optimization: Optimize existing processes, pipelines, dashboards, and systems to facilitate easier development of data artifacts.
- Mentorship: Mentor team members by providing actionable feedback.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4+ years of work experience in data engineering (2+ years with a Ph.D).
- Proficiency in SQL, ETL, data modeling, and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, C++, C#, Scala).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's or Ph.D. degree in a STEM field.
- Experience with data processing automation, data quality, data warehousing, data governance, business intelligence, data visualization, and data privacy.
- Experience working with terabyte to petabyte scale data.

Compensation
- Salary: $134,000/year to $204,000/year
- Additional Compensation: Bonus and equity
