Data Engineer, Product Analytics

Job Overview

Meta is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our Product Analytics team in San Francisco, California. As a Data Engineer, you will work collaboratively with software engineering, data science, and product management teams to optimize growth, strategy, and user experience for our vast user base. Responsibilities

• Data Architecture: Conceptualize and own the data architecture for multiple large-scale projects, evaluating design and operational cost-benefit tradeoffs.
• Framework Development: Create and contribute to frameworks that enhance the efficacy of logging data, working with data infrastructure to resolve issues.
• Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to understand data needs and represent key data insights meaningfully.
• Data Management: Define and manage SLA for all data sets in allocated areas of ownership.
• Security and Governance: Implement security models based on privacy requirements, address data quality issues, and evolve governance processes.
• Data Models and Visualizations: Design, build, and launch sophisticated data models and visualizations supporting multiple use cases.
• Data Integration: Solve challenging data integration problems using optimal ETL patterns and frameworks.
• Process Optimization: Optimize existing processes, pipelines, dashboards, and systems to facilitate easier development of data artifacts.
• Mentorship: Mentor team members by providing actionable feedback.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of work experience in data engineering (2+ years with a Ph.D).
• Proficiency in SQL, ETL, data modeling, and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, C++, C#, Scala).

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. degree in a STEM field.
• Experience with data processing automation, data quality, data warehousing, data governance, business intelligence, data visualization, and data privacy.
• Experience working with terabyte to petabyte scale data.

Compensation

• Salary: $134,000/year to $204,000/year
• Additional Compensation: Bonus and equity
