About the Role
As a Data Engineer at Cat Digital's new Slovakian branch, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and deployment of Caterpillar’s state-of-the-art digital program. This position involves working directly with Slovakia-based engineering leadership and Cat Digital IT in the US.
Key Responsibilities
- Application Development: Develop applications focused on delivering business valuable features.
- Project Management: Handle complex assignments and assist other engineers by providing technical assistance and direction.
- Team Growth: Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team.
- Documentation: Guide the team in developing structured code, new program documentation, operations, and user guides.
- Communication: Communicate with end users and internal customers, assisting them with development, debugging, and testing.
- Testing: Perform integrated testing to ensure timely, quality results.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in software development, testing, and creating documentation.
- Solid experience in designing and developing software applications in Python.
- Good understanding of AWS cloud platform, including components, services, and cloud-native architecture.
- Passion for technology and eagerness to contribute to a team-oriented environment.
- Solid knowledge of computer science fundamentals like data structures and algorithms.
- Experience deploying software using CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GoCD, Azure DevOps.
- Experience working within an Agile framework, ideally Scrum.
