About the Role
Timescale is seeking a passionate Developer Advocate to join our team and represent our products in technical communities worldwide. As a Developer Advocate, you will be a developer's best friend, helping them understand and leverage our technologies, particularly focusing on Timescale pgvector, a powerful extension for PostgreSQL that enables efficient similarity search using vector data.
Responsibilities
- Content Creation: Develop engaging online content, including articles, videos, and blog posts, for Timescale and third-party developer sites. Your content will guide developers on how to use pgvector for advanced data processing and analysis.
- Community Engagement: Identify and support external advocates and community leaders as they discuss Timescale and time-series data independently.
- Feedback Collection: Gather and summarize customer feedback to relay effectively to the product team, using data and experiments to drive Timescale adoption.
- Benchmarking: Create benchmarking content that focuses on the big picture, comparing more than just raw performance.
Requirements
- Technical Expertise: Experience with AI and machine learning technologies, especially in the context of PostgreSQL and time-series data.
- Content Development: Proven ability to create and present content related to AI and its applications in data management and analysis.
- Community Involvement: Previous experience working with developers, whether as an advocate, evangelist, developer, or solutions architect.
- PostgreSQL Knowledge: Strong preference for candidates with experience in PostgreSQL, as it is the backbone of our product.
- Remote Work: Ability to work independently and remotely, with a preference for candidates based in the SF Bay Area or New York City.
