The Opportunity
People Data Labs is seeking an Engineering Manager for our Web and Customer applications team. You will be responsible for managing a team of Frontend and Fullstack software engineers, and collaborating with product and design teams to enhance the customer experience on our website and applications. Our website is a critical component in connecting with and engaging customers, as it serves as the primary platform for purchasing data packages and managing accounts.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage a team of 4-8 Frontend and Fullstack software engineers
- Drive projects and initiatives through the team
- Hire, coach, and develop engineers
- Ensure and develop solid code quality and development practices within the team
- Occasionally code hands-on and provide technical feedback on code reviews
- Work alongside UX designers and product managers to define strategy and drive execution
- Partner with marketing and growth teams to optimize website engagement and conversion
- Collaborate with the customer success team to provide tools for account management and internal insights
- Align with core product and engineering teams on new product launches and go-to-market strategies
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders about priorities, deliveries, and improvements
Skills & Experience
- 2+ years of experience managing a team of software engineers
- 5+ years of experience in software development
- Proficiency in React.js and Python REST API backends (e.g., Django, FastAPI)
- Experience with A/B testing frameworks (e.g., LaunchDarkly)
- Strong mentoring, hiring, and team performance management skills
- Experience in agile methodologies and running sprints
