Role Overview
As an Engineering Manager on the Growth team at Reddit, you will be pivotal in connecting users with Reddit’s core value of community. You will lead a team of engineers to build and operate user-facing applications that enhance user experience and engagement across Reddit’s platforms, including web and native applications (iOS and Android).
Responsibilities
- Build and operate a high-caliber, inclusive team of engineers.
- Work cross-functionally with product, design, and other engineering teams to execute on product and business strategy.
- Lead development efforts on new products and features that users will love.
- Drive a culture of technical excellence and ensure high-quality standards.
- Mentor and support the professional growth of your team members.
- Contribute to the full development cycle: design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience managing high performing engineering teams.
- 5+ years of experience in software development.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, Swift, Kotlin, Rust, Java, or C++.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Experience with product metrics and tools like GA, BigQuery etc.
- Strong focus on user experience and usability.
- Experience in social or e-commerce platforms is a plus.
