Job Overview
Reddit is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our Observability team. This role is pivotal in developing and maintaining tools that help engineers understand and monitor their systems at scale. You will be working with technologies like Prometheus, Thanos, Grafana, Vector, and more, contributing to one of the largest deployments of these systems in the world.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain observability tools and infrastructure.
- Collaborate with software engineers to enhance the observability platform.
- Contribute to open-source projects and make upstream changes.
- Address challenges related to system performance and scalability.
- Share on-call responsibilities and troubleshoot system issues.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in software development, preferably in infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of distributed systems and familiarity with tools like Kubernetes, Prometheus, Thanos, Grafana, etc.
- Experience with Kubernetes controller or operator development is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
