We are a small team of college dropouts based in Dogpatch, SF, with a culture that is fun and casual. We play tennis every weekend, but we approach work with extreme urgency and intensity. Our product development cycles are weekly, allowing us to ship extremely fast.
The Kind of Person We're Looking For
We seek a founding engineer to help build a revolutionary consumer product aimed at creating a true personal AI. This role involves tackling unsolved technical challenges in the AI space, requiring the ability to become a world expert on new AI problems. You should be versatile, willing to engage with all aspects of the startup, including direct user interaction and customer support as needed.
Skills and Experience
- 5+ years of coding experience on a variety of challenging technical problems
- Experience building FastAPI servers, ideally with WebSocket and/or WebRTC protocols
- Familiarity with embeddings, RAG, and tool calls
- Demonstrable experience with complex projects built from scratch
Technical Challenges
- Developing long-term memory for an AI butler
- Programming algorithms for proactive actions by the AI
- Enhancing an LLM to precisely choose between 30 tool calls with accurate parameters
