What To Expect

This internship position is expected to start in January and continue through April/May. Internships are in-person for 40 hours a week for a minimum of 12 weeks. International students should consult their school regarding work authorization through CPT before applying. About The Team

At Tesla, Service Engineering exists at the intersection of firmware/hardware design, service, diagnostics, manufacturing, quality, and reliability. The mission is to ensure that customers’ vehicles are diagnosed accurately, reliably, and quickly, with feedback mechanisms for continuous improvement of diagnostics.

What You'll Do

Build and maintain highly available mission-critical applications and dashboards with appealing visual designs.
Contribute to the full software lifecycle including design, development of backend and frontend, documentation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
Improve diagnostic simplicity, meet regulatory compliance, and build proactive diagnostic systems.
Debug production issues, identify root causes, and apply fixes promptly.
Participate in architectural improvements to support a growing user base.
Improve application security, reliability, scalability, and performance.

What You'll Bring

Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with a graduation date between 2025 - 2026.
Demonstrated ability with SQL and comprehension of complex relational database schemas.
Experience with frontend languages, libraries, and JS frameworks (e.g., HTML/CSS, JavaScript, Node.js, React, Redux).
Experience with backend languages, libraries, and frameworks (e.g., Python, Golang, Django, Flask).
Previous experience with REST APIs and building them from scratch.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.
A passion for sustainable energy.

Expected Compensation

The hourly rate for this internship is between $36.06 and $50.48, depending on level and experience, plus benefits.
