About the Role
As a Machine Learning Engineering Manager at Microblink, you will be at the forefront of innovation, leading a team of talented ML engineers. Your role will be pivotal in shaping the impact of machine learning across our products, which are used by millions globally. With a strong emphasis on team growth and development, you will guide the team in building and training custom-architecture models for real-time applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and Guide the ML Team: You will be responsible for leading a team of machine learning engineers, facilitating cross-team communication, and ensuring alignment with Microblink's core values and technical direction.
- Mentorship and Development: Provide regular training and mentorship to team members, conduct performance evaluations, and create effective development plans.
- Project Management: Work with the product management team to define projects and develop the roadmap.
- Hiring and Team Growth: Participate in the hiring process and develop hiring plans based on business needs and team capacity.
- Process Improvement: Invest in developing processes and tools that enhance team efficiency and productivity.
- Stay Updated: Keep abreast of industry and technology trends to continuously improve the team’s tools and engineering practices.
Qualifications
- Experience in researching, developing, experimenting with, and bringing ML-based projects to production.
- Previous senior or lead ML engineer experience in an individual contributor role.
- Proven track record of managing and leading ML and engineering teams, preferably cross-functional teams.
- Experience with data annotation pipelines and data analysis.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Willingness to work across EST and CET time zones occasionally.
Preferred Qualifications
- Development of custom, inference-optimized ML model architectures.
- Experience with both CV and NLP.
- Experience with data extraction pipelines based on ML.
- Experience with deployment and monitoring of ML models.
