About the Role
Anthropic is seeking a Machine Learning Resident to join our team in California. This residency program is designed for individuals who are deeply curious about machine learning and interested in transitioning into the field. The program offers a 6-12 month residency, working closely with mentors to conduct high-impact research and grow as a machine learning researcher.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research in machine learning, focusing on large models, scaling laws, circuits-style interpretability, and human feedback.
- Collaborate with a team of researchers, engineers, and policy experts to build beneficial AI systems.
- Implement deep learning concepts and contribute to the development of AI systems that are safe and beneficial for society.
- Engage in self-study, side projects, or courses related to deep learning to enhance your skills.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of Python, linear algebra, and calculus.
- Familiarity with fundamental deep learning concepts and the ability to implement them.
- Significant research or software engineering experience.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Open to candidates with non-traditional backgrounds who are interested in breaking into the ML or AI field.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $250,000 per year.
- Equity: Eligible roles include equity as a major component of total compensation.
- Benefits: Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with 4% matching, 22 weeks of paid parental leave, unlimited PTO, and more.
Logistics
- Location: California, United States.
- Workplace Type: Hybrid, with an expectation to be in the office at least 25% of the time.
