Niche Engineer - Data and DevOps

Job Overview

Join Nike, a global leader in sports and fashion retail, as a Niche Engineer in our Technology department. This role is based in Salem, Oregon, and offers the flexibility of remote work. As a Niche Engineer, you will be pivotal in driving Nike's data-driven decisions by expanding our Software & Data Engineering team.

What You Will Do

Build and improve data products for consumer behavior events from our experiences.
Work with a variety of talented Nike teammates and be a driving force for building first-class data solutions.
Incorporate automated unit tests and participate in integration testing efforts.
Troubleshoot data issues and perform root cause analysis.
Work across teams to resolve operational & performance issues.
Propose solutions and designs to reduce performance issues and improve efficiency.

What You Bring

BS degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
Programming experience in Python or Scala, preferred.
Experience building domain-driven Microservices.
Experience with data modeling in different data stores.
Experience working with Big Data processing frameworks such as Spark, Hive, etc.
Experience working with Big Data streaming frameworks such as Nifi, Spark-Streaming, Flink, etc.
Experience working with Big Data streaming services such as Kinesis, Kafka, etc.
Experience with performance and scalability tuning.
Experience working in a public cloud environment, particularly AWS.
Familiarity with practices like Continuous Development, Continuous Integration, and Automated Testing.
Familiarity with Git and version control.
Desire to work collaboratively with teammates to come up with the best solution to a problem.
