Job Overview
Join Nike, a global leader in sports and fashion retail, as a Niche Engineer in our Technology department. This role is based in Salem, Oregon, and offers the flexibility of remote work. As a Niche Engineer, you will be pivotal in driving Nike's data-driven decisions by expanding our Software & Data Engineering team.
What You Will Do
- Build and improve data products for consumer behavior events from our experiences.
- Work with a variety of talented Nike teammates and be a driving force for building first-class data solutions.
- Incorporate automated unit tests and participate in integration testing efforts.
- Troubleshoot data issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Work across teams to resolve operational & performance issues.
- Propose solutions and designs to reduce performance issues and improve efficiency.
What You Bring
- BS degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Programming experience in Python or Scala, preferred.
- Experience building domain-driven Microservices.
- Experience with data modeling in different data stores.
- Experience working with Big Data processing frameworks such as Spark, Hive, etc.
- Experience working with Big Data streaming frameworks such as Nifi, Spark-Streaming, Flink, etc.
- Experience working with Big Data streaming services such as Kinesis, Kafka, etc.
- Experience with performance and scalability tuning.
- Experience working in a public cloud environment, particularly AWS.
- Familiarity with practices like Continuous Development, Continuous Integration, and Automated Testing.
- Familiarity with Git and version control.
- Desire to work collaboratively with teammates to come up with the best solution to a problem.
