Senior Web Developer - WordPress, React

About the Role

WP Engine is seeking a skilled Senior Web Developer with expertise in modern WordPress development, particularly in native block development using React. This role is part of our Marketing department, where you will collaborate with developers, designers, and partners to build high-traffic, high-performance, and high-visibility sites. These sites run on both headless and traditional WordPress platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with your team to build elegant and compelling user experiences on the web.
Develop and modify components, migrate content, and improve tooling on our Atlas platform.
Work with engineering teams to enhance platform capabilities and address security vulnerabilities.
Engage in pair or mob programming to ensure well-crafted architecture and plugins.
Collaborate with Marketing and Product & Engineering teams to understand and create new projects.
Embrace challenges in a fast-paced environment with high visibility sites.

Minimum Qualifications

Demonstrated understanding of modern WordPress development.
Expertise in native block development using React.
Competence in React, JavaScript, and PHP.
Proven experience in modern front-end web development, including semantic HTML and modern CSS.
Effective communication skills and ability to build working relationships.

Preferred Skills

Experience with WordPress headless frameworks like Atlas or Faust.js.
Familiarity with Next.js and GraphQL.
Experience with build and automation tools such as Composer, Yarn, Webpack, Docker, and CI/CD tools.
Solid understanding of automated testing and monitoring.
Server administration experience and marketing analytics.

Salary Range

The estimated base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $150,000 per year. Compensation is reflective of the impact you have within the organization relative to the market value of your role.
