As a Principal Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our engineering team and the products we build.

About the Role

As the first Principal Engineer at Remote, you will join a team of 250 engineers working across Frontend, Backend, SRE, and QA. Our backend is built with Elixir and Phoenix, with a Postgres database. We use React and Next.js for our frontend. GitLab is our version control tool and CI/CD solution, and our applications are hosted on AWS. We deploy multiple times per day, fully relying on our CI for deployments.

You will partner closely with 15 staff engineers across the business, tackling complex and meaningful challenges that enable people and businesses to live and operate in any country of the world. This is an opportunity to have a significant impact on the business, as we are still very early in our journey as a company.

Build, maintain, and scale complex software and systems.

What You Bring

Experience as a Principal Engineer or in a similar seniority role.
A history of building, maintaining, and scaling complex software and systems.
Experience in scaling software systems to accommodate a growing number of contributors and teams.
Strong problem-solving skills with a strategic and pragmatic approach.
