About the Role
Remote is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with expertise in Elixir to join our dynamic engineering team. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be part of a team of 280 engineers working across various domains including Frontend, Backend, SRE, and QA. Our teams are cross-functional and focus on specific verticals, allowing for deep specialization and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of major projects within your team and participate in cross-team initiatives.
- Actively engage in product development, providing feedback and suggesting solutions to complex problems.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the team’s domain from both product and engineering perspectives.
- Provide feedback on code reviews and contribute to the shared codebase.
- Debug and resolve technical and business issues.
- Participate in non-team activities such as support rotations, hiring processes, and RFC discussions.
- Mentor and guide other engineers, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
- Design and implement APIs with a focus on performance, scalability, and maintainability.
What You Bring
- Significant experience as a Backend Engineer with Elixir, including building, shipping, and maintaining complex software projects.
- Proficiency with PostgreSQL or similar databases.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, GitHub, or Jenkins.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, and frontend frameworks like Next.js, React, or Angular is a plus.
