Role Overview
As a Principal Software Engineer focused on Backstage Development at Gen, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining our developer portal. This role involves using Backstage, an open-source platform, to create a seamless and user-friendly experience for developers.
Responsibilities
- Portal Development: Design, implement, and maintain the developer portal, ensuring a responsive UI.
- Integration: Work with internal teams to integrate services, tools, and documentation.
- Customization: Tailor the Backstage platform to meet our community's needs and align with our brand.
- Documentation: Produce clear, comprehensive documentation for developers.
- Collaboration: Engage with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
- Feedback and Improvement: Collect feedback to enhance the portal continuously.
- Stay Updated: Keep abreast of industry trends and updates to Backstage.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Experience as a Backstage Developer or similar role.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, React, and related web technologies.
- Familiarity with API design principles.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
