About The Role
As a Senior Application Security Engineer at Gen, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the security of our applications. You will be responsible for driving changes in our bug bounty program, leading complex application security reviews, and integrating threat modeling practices into the Software Development Lifecycle. You will also be tasked with training and educating developers in secure coding techniques and building program-level activities through metrics and dashboards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and influence cross-functional changes across the Security organization.
- Conduct application security reviews and threat modeling.
- Own documentation and procedures for application security reviews.
- Evangelize security training with development teams.
- Integrate threat modeling practices into the Software Development Lifecycle.
- Train developers in secure coding techniques and enable self-service.
- Build and drive program-level activities through metrics and dashboards.
- Serve as a mentor to other AppSec team members.
What You’ll Need
- Familiarity with common security flaws and ways to address them (e.g., OWASP Top 10).
- Basic understanding of network and web-related protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, HTTPS).
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build simple solutions to complex problems.
- Proven ability to create new security programs and deliver successful results.
- Written and spoken English at least on B2 level.
