Principal Software Engineer, Orders Pricing
Toast is seeking a visionary Principal Software Engineer to lead the transformation of our complex order pricing architecture. Responsibilities
- Lead Architectural Transformation: Spearhead the evolution of our Orders Pricing architecture, delivering scalable solutions that significantly impact our business.
- Framework and Process Implementation: Define and implement frameworks and processes to ensure the quality, resilience, and scalability of our pricing platform.
- Technical Strategy Development: Develop and execute technical strategies to solve complex business challenges, using data-driven decisions to prioritize impactful changes.
- Mentorship and Leadership: Mentor and guide engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, inclusivity, and engineering excellence.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build and maintain strong partnerships across lines of business, aligning technical solutions with strategic objectives.
Requirements
- Experience: 8+ years in software engineering, with a strong background in back-end development using Java, Kotlin, or other object-oriented languages.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient with modern web standards and technologies (e.g., REST, GraphQL), relational databases, and alternative data stores.
- System Design: Experience with distributed systems, enterprise messaging systems, and/or microservices.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with a track record of guiding teams through architectural transformations.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
