About The Role

We are looking for Software Engineers who thrive in a collaborative environment and have experience designing, architecting, and executing systems from scratch to join our growing Platform team. In this role, you will work closely with Product teams to ideate, build, and iterate on features that have real-world impact. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of Tangelo’s systems and, by extension, the members we serve.

Responsibilities

• Report to the VP of Engineering.
• Collaborate with Product Managers on system designs.
• Design, architect, and build out scalable solutions.
• Ensure integration with healthcare claims, revenue cycle management, and logistics systems, working within a highly regulated space.
• Ship and test your own code.
• Engage with junior engineers and provide mentorship.
• Work in step with our offshore team.
• Participate in long-term planning.

About You

• 5+ years of experience building complex systems; experience in healthcare, claims, revenue cycle.
• Experience working at a growing company (Series A or B preferred), where engineers sit at the table and influence platform decisions.
• Understanding of Asynchronous Architectures, including event-based messaging, BASE data management, gRPC, adaptive data schema versioning, and highly distributed systems.
• Strong Language Skills inclusive of delivery of production systems in at least one of the following languages: C, Rust, deep Java, etc.
• Experience with one of the following, or an equivalent: Kubernetes, AWS services and security, OKTA.
• Experience with the following is a plus: Kafka, Database Row Versioning and Metadata Abstraction, Late Schema Binding, Apache Avro, AI Accelerated Development, and OpenAI APIs.
