Join Tock as a Software Engineer, Backend

Tock is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our backend team and help us build the next generation of our restaurant ticketing system. This system is already in use at world-class restaurants such as Alinea, Next, and The French Laundry. As a Software Engineer at Tock, you will have the opportunity to work on a mix of front and back-end web development tools, with a focus on APIs, backend integrations, and enterprise customers.

Responsibilities

• Build Backend Integrations: Develop customer-facing APIs and features for enterprise customers.
• Feature Development: Work on next-generation web applications that are fast and responsive.
• Full Lifecycle Development: Take features or enhancements from engineering design to production.
• Team Collaboration: Contribute to team culture and code across the company.
• System Maintenance: Maintain and upgrade code, and participate in the design and implementation of complex systems.

Who We're Looking For

• Experience: At least 3 years of experience in building software.
• Technical Skills: Understanding of all parts of a modern web-based application stack from frontend to backend to production.
• Specialization: Expertise in at least one part of the stack—backend or production infrastructure.
• Team Player: Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for updates and resolutions.
• Data-Driven: Preference for experimenting and using data to guide decision-making.
