Staff/Lead Application Security Engineer

Job Overview

Join Agoda as a Staff/Lead Application Security Engineer and play a pivotal role in safeguarding our applications and services. Based in Bangkok, with relocation support provided, you will be part of a dynamic team in a fast-paced DevSecOps environment. Your expertise will be crucial in developing and implementing security controls and standards, ensuring the security of our applications across various platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Security Initiatives: Develop and design application-level security controls and standards.
Security Design Reviews: Conduct application security design reviews for new products and services.
Issue Management: Track and prioritize security issues, ensuring timely resolution.
Tool Development: Build internal security tools to address security challenges at scale.
Code Review and Remediation: Perform code reviews and drive the remediation of identified issues.
Automated Security Testing: Implement automated security testing to assess vulnerabilities and report risks across microservices, web, and mobile platforms.
Security Testing: Execute security tests on servers across on-premise and cloud data centers.

Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 7 years in software engineering with a focus on security, including threat modeling, secure coding, identity management, and cryptography.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in software development life cycle in languages such as Rust, Python, Go, Node.js, etc.
Cloud Experience: At least 1 year of experience with public/private cloud environments like AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.
Security Standards: Experience with OWASP MASVS and ASVS.
Vulnerability Management: Strong knowledge of common web application vulnerabilities and experience with automated scanners and proxy tools.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
