Job Overview
As a Senior Automation Engineer at Amazon in Cividate al Piano, Italy, you will be at the forefront of optimizing operational processes through automation. This role involves ensuring that automated systems such as conveyors and sortation systems are functioning efficiently to meet customer delivery times. You will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and repairing key systems, and collaborating with the EU Controls network to enhance equipment availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and troubleshoot issues with Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
- Provide data visualizations for troubleshooting to internal stakeholders.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects.
- Ensure all systems are correctly documented and maintain accurate backup libraries.
- Collaborate with global colleagues on new equipment installation and commissioning.
- Support other sites within the EU Controls network as needed.
- Interpret mechanical and electrical drawings to develop improvement strategies.
A Day in the Life
Your day-to-day tasks include being the site expert on automated systems, working closely with Engineering Technicians to update them on device troubleshooting and preventative maintenance. You will take the lead in identifying and implementing solutions to optimize system performance.
Qualifications
- Experience with PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis in a continuous process or production environment.
- Experience supporting various conveyors and sortation systems.
- Proficiency in using tools like Microsoft Office, project management tools, and EPLAN.
- Advanced proficiency in English and the local language.
Preferred Qualifications
- A degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience within ISO 13849 and ISO 62061 frameworks.
- Multi-site project management experience.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma and other process improvement techniques.
