Senior DevOps Engineer with AWS Expertise

Job Overview

Join Poppi Technologies as a Senior DevOps Engineer and lead our team in architecting our AWS platform. This role involves developing monitoring and alerting systems for AWS-deployed platforms and software, enhancing security to ensure sustained and reliable availability of internal and production systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Platform Architecture: Lead the design and implementation of our AWS platform.
• Monitoring and Security: Develop robust monitoring and alerting systems for AWS platforms and improve security measures.
• Automation and Deployment: Automate, deploy, and secure cloud solutions using DevOps practices such as CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code.
• Collaboration: Work closely with software development teams to identify and eliminate constraints in the product lifecycle.
• Problem Solving: Bring strong technical problem-solving skills to manage and optimize our AWS environment.
• On-call Rotation: Participate in the on-call rotation schedule and be available for occasional travel.

Required Skills and Experience

• Experience: 5+ years in a similar role (SRE, Cloud Infrastructure, or DevOps Engineer).
• AWS Expertise: Proven experience as an AWS Solution Architect.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in cloud infrastructure, networking, and security.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Technical Solutions: Experience in producing technical solutions and understanding the software development process.
• Configuration Management: Familiarity with tools like Ansible and Puppet.
• Container Technologies: Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or Podman.
• Automation: Experience with GitLab and CI/CD pipelines.
• Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell, Python, or Ruby.
• Source Control: Experience with Git or SVN.
• Linux Administration: Demonstrable experience with Linux systems (Ubuntu, CentOS, Redhat).
• Web Servers: Experience with Apache and NGINX.

Desirable Skills

• Container Orchestration: Experience with Kubernetes, Docker Swarm.
• Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, Munin.
• Infrastructure as Code: Experience with Terraform.
• Messaging Platforms: Knowledge of RabbitMQ, Postfix, Mandrill.
• SQL Databases: Experience with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Time Series Databases: Familiarity with QuestDB, Timescale.
