Join Grafana Labs as a Senior Backend Engineer
Grafana Labs is seeking a talented Senior Backend Engineer to join our Grafana Backend Services squad. This role is remote and open to candidates based in the U.S. or Canada.
About the Role
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be part of a team dedicated to delivering the best Grafana service to both On-Prem and Cloud customers. You will take ownership of the API codebase and the orchestration infrastructure required to deliver Grafana at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with your team to deliver new functionality and iterate based on results.
- Contribute to and review design documents for upcoming features.
- Embrace our open-source culture and contribute to projects beyond your team's scope.
- Influence our roadmap and your career objectives.
- Participate in on-call rotations and take ownership of the services you run.
- Mentor and support other team members, participate in design discussions, and collaborate with the team.
- Share ideas and knowledge across a wide array of technical ideologies and mindsets.
- Work closely with other squads in the Grafana Division.
What We Are Looking For
- Solid experience with GoLang.
- Strong understanding of storage solutions, particularly relational databases like MySQL, SQLite, and Postgres.
- Passion for developer and user experience and product quality.
- Experience in delivering projects from requirements gathering to product shipping.
- Ability to write clean, robust, and performant software.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers in a collaborative environment.
- Enjoyment in working on complex solutions.
Bonus Points
- Experience with open-source software and/or commercial open-source companies.
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, or Developer Efficiency work streams.
- Experience using Grafana and Prometheus in operational roles.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary range: $148,505 - $178,206 per year.
- Benefits include equity, bonus, health insurance, and paid vacation.
