About the Role
As a Senior Backend Engineer at Grafana Labs, you will be part of the Mimir Query squad, focusing on the read path components of Mimir. Your primary goal will be to optimize the customer experience through fast queries and ensure resilience across a wide variety of query workloads. You will engage in various work streams, including larger projects with other engineers, performance and reliability improvements, and operational responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Influence our roadmap and your career objectives.
- Deliver new features and iterate based on user feedback.
- Drive projects from ideation to operational handover.
- Design, build, operate, and maintain critical systems.
- Participate in on-call rotations and ensure service reliability.
- Mentor and support team members.
Skills and Experience
- Solid experience with programming languages like Go, Python, C, C++, or Rust.
- Experience in cloud-based or systems engineering.
- Ability to work remotely with strong communication skills.
- Experience with Kubernetes and microservices is a plus.
- Familiarity with Grafana, Prometheus, or similar tools is beneficial.
