Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js)

About the Role

F-Secure Corporation is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team in Bratislava. This role is pivotal in designing and maintaining our third-party infrastructure solutions, particularly focusing on Amazon Web Services (AWS). You will be responsible for developing the backend of our password vault, ensuring the security of millions of users' digital identities. Our systems are built in Node.js, utilizing a DevOps/SRE mindset with CI/CD, self-healing, and elasticity.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain backend services for our password vault, providing high-performance, high-availability APIs to frontend developers, mobile client teams, and external partners.
Develop and enhance services within our large-scale microservices and SOA architecture.
Conduct unit, functional, integration, and other forms of automated testing to ensure the robustness and reliability of our services.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation to enable self-service and facilitate smooth team collaboration.
Engage in internal customer outreach, advocacy, and support to ensure our solutions meet user needs effectively.

What We Are Looking For

To succeed in this role, we're seeking an individual with prior work experience in backend engineering, cloud services, or a related role within the software industry.

5+ years of work experience in designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems in Amazon Web Services.
Proficient programming skills in Node.js.
Experience implementing RESTful services with APIs in a scalable cloud environment.
Skilled at troubleshooting and appreciate the value of testing.
Interest in DevOps and agile working methods.
Full professional proficiency in English.
Ability to work in a hybrid model and occasionally visit our office in Bratislava.
