Overview
Atlassian is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere within the US time zones. Atlassian, a leader in software development tools like Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Trello, is dedicated to helping teams across the globe become more agile and innovative.
Responsibilities
- Drive large, complex projects autonomously from technical design to launch.
- Tackle complex architecture challenges using architectural standards on new projects.
- Lead code reviews and documentation efforts, and handle complex bug fixes, particularly in high-risk problems.
- Collaborate across engineering teams to address company-wide initiatives spanning multiple projects.
- Transfer your depth of knowledge to excel as a Java developer and mentor other engineers.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in backend application development.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably in Computer Science.
- Senior-level expertise in languages such as Java, Python, Kotlin, Go, or Scala.
- Experience with public cloud offerings (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Proficiency in database technologies (RDBMS like Oracle or Postgres and/or NoSQL like DynamoDB or Cassandra).
- Familiarity with agile software development methodologies.
