About the Role
As a Senior Backend Software Engineer at Box, you will be part of a dynamic team that pushes the boundaries of cloud content management. Our Warsaw office is a key hub for engineering and product development, and we are expanding our team to include over 100 new members in 2024. This role offers a unique opportunity to impact the productivity of millions of users at significant enterprises worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop robust APIs using Java, PHP, or Scala.
- Engage in software design and object-oriented programming.
- Work with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and other cloud technologies to enhance our services.
- Participate in code reviews and maintain high coding standards.
- Collaborate with team members in an Agile/Scrum environment using tools like Jira and Confluence.
- Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle, including documentation, bug fixes, and meetings.
Who You Are
- You have at least 3 years of professional software development experience.
- You are proficient in Java, with experience in PHP or Scala being advantageous.
- You possess strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and software design principles.
- You are experienced in developing APIs and have a solid understanding of object-oriented programming.
- You are fluent in English and can communicate effectively.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with public cloud systems such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
- Contributions to open source projects are highly regarded.
