Tasks

• Managing Software Engineers in a matrixed product engineering organization, across empowered squads.
• Providing technical stewardship of one or more mission teams.
• Ensuring your direct reports are motivated, happy, and engaged to achieve high performance.
• Facilitating the understanding of customer issues and requirements for the team as a means to improve the squad’s services.
• Acting as the voice of the team, providing visibility into team performance as well as ensuring they’re prioritizing work in line with business goals, objectives, and their customer’s requirements.
• Working with Staff Engineers as well as the Architecture and Security functions, to ensure your squads deliver the highest standards of technical design and implementation and that our platform is operationally excellent.

Requirements

Must Have:

• Experience leading teams of highly skilled Software Engineers to success.
• Solid practical and theoretical knowledge of modern software development.
• Excellent understanding of one or more of our tech stack: React Native, Java, Kafka, iOS, Android, Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, GraphQL.
• Experience building and designing scalable and performant systems, and making significant contributions to the wider engineering goals of the company.
• Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills.

Nice To Have:

• Experience as an SRE or Java Engineer (or engineering leader) focusing on software performance and reliability.
• Experience working with Kafka and/or Event Sourcing platforms.
• Programming background or have had some hands-on experience as a software developer.
