Job Overview
Join AUTODOC, a leading E-commerce for automotive spare parts in Europe, as a Senior Engineering Lead. This role is based in Lisbon, Portugal, and offers a hybrid work model. You will lead the engineering team in transitioning from PHP monoliths to a new microservices architecture, focusing on Java development.
Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering team on the migration to microservices.
- Oversee end-to-end development of scalable and high-performance solutions.
- Ensure alignment with business objectives and technical requirements.
- Design and develop microservices in Java, adhering to established standards.
- Implement service alarmistic, monitoring, and incident mitigation practices.
- Manage the software development life cycle from code to release.
- Partner strategically with Product Managers to deliver high-impact solutions.
- Coach and support team members, fostering individual and team growth.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams.
- 5+ years of experience in Java software engineering.
- Proficiency in architecture/design methods, data and API specifications, and quality assurance.
- Experience with MySQL, Postgres, and handling large data volumes.
- Familiarity with microservices and cloud architectures like Google Cloud Platform and Docker.
- Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Intermediate English proficiency (B1 level).
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of PHP 7+, Laravel, and Symfony.
- Experience with ElasticSearch.
