Senior Quality Engineer - Open Data Hub/OpenShift AI

Job Overview

Red Hat OpenShift AI (RHOAI) is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves contributing to RHOAI's product development, engaging in open source communities like Kubeflow, Trusty AI, and Kserve, and being at the forefront of AI evolution. RHOAI provides robust technologies for Data Scientists and MLops, offering model development, serving, data pipelines, Kubeflow components, and Kubernetes operator development. By leveraging open source tools and the latest in AI and hybrid cloud, we deliver unmatched value.

Key Responsibilities

• Design Reviews and Automated Testing: Own design reviews and automated testing for major product features and bug fixes. Develop test strategy and frameworks, design and implement automated tests, create and carry out test plans, research new features, and maintain and enhance test frameworks.
• Customer Advocacy: Serve as an internal advocate for our customers, providing data-driven product quality metrics to all major stakeholders.
• Community Building: Help grow a company-wide community of Quality enthusiasts that is passionate about our customers’ needs.
• Technical Initiatives: Run technical initiatives that grow, improve, and scale our existing processes.
• Open Source Contribution: Contribute to the development of the Open Data Hub open source project and Red Hat Openshift AI family of products. Work with and develop testing plans for new open source AI components from Open Data Hub and Red Hat OpenShift AI.
• Cross-Company Collaboration: Utilize strong communication skills for cross-company collaboration, engaging with Red Hat engineers, product managers, consultants, and global management teams.

Required Skills and Experience

• Experience with AI and Machine Learning: Platforms such as Kubeflow, Tensorflow, or PyTorch is considered a plus.
• Software Quality Engineering: 5+ years of experience including test automation using object-oriented languages; Python and Golang are preferred.
• Linux Systems Management: Extensive experience managing Linux-based systems in a production environment.
• Container Technologies: Demonstrated expertise in container-related technologies like Docker, Podman, or Kubernetes.
• Batch Management Tools: Proficiency in Jenkins or other batch management tools, including the creation of pipelines and the ability to troubleshoot tests using log analysis.
• Automated Testing: Strong understanding of automated testing at both the API and UI frontend levels.
• Version Control Systems: Proficient in version control systems such as Git.
• Communication Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
