Role Overview
Red Hat is seeking a Senior Openshift Architect to join our UK&I team. This role is ideal for candidates from either the United Kingdom or Ireland. As a Senior Architect, you will lead the design and development of container infrastructure solutions across our Platform portfolio. You will be responsible for answering questions about best practices across topics such as reliability, scalability, maintainability, high availability, and failover setups. Additionally, you will lead on-site delivery and implementation of Red Hat's technology.
Responsibilities
- Deliver successful discovery, analysis, and design workshops for customers comprising both technical and non-technical teams.
- Shape and influence customer use cases and architectural design decisions.
- Scope delivery projects and guide customers through successful pilot and production deployments.
- Serve as a subject matter expert at customer sites, addressing technical, developmental, or strategic IT needs.
- Manage problem identification, system architecture definition, software specification and design, testing, and deployment of open source solutions.
- Learn about new technologies and apply these concepts to customer needs.
- Adapt to changing customer requirements.
- Respond to incidents, escalations, and exceptions in a professional manner.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field of study, or equivalent work experience and/or industry recognized certifications (particularly RH certifications).
- 5+ years experience in a consulting role or similar.
- Experience building and supporting Kubernetes-based platforms, management, applications, and tooling.
- Familiarity with modern infrastructure deployment, infrastructure as code, and GitOps technologies.
- Good customer-facing skills; ability to present to customers and guide customer interactions.
- Knowledge of one or more of Red Hat's infrastructure solutions like Red Hat Satellite, Red Hat Virtualization, Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform or Red Hat Ansible Tower, Red Hat OpenStack Platform, or Red Hat OpenShift.
