We are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to join our Web Applications Team, which is responsible for delivering exceptional user experiences across our products: Scribd, Everand, and SlideShare.

About the Role

As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining our web applications that are used by millions of users worldwide. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality frontend solutions, leading technical discussions, setting standards, and mentoring other engineers. Your work will involve deep collaboration with other engineering teams, designers, and product managers.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle frontend software development, including technical design, code reviews, and best practices.
• Deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable frontend solutions using modern JavaScript frameworks, especially React.
• Collaborate with server-side engineers to design and implement APIs.
• Solve complex caching, observability, and performance challenges in modern web applications.
• Mentor and guide other engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Contribute to the overall architecture and direction of our web applications.

Requirements

• Expert-level understanding of modern JavaScript frameworks, especially React.
• Proven experience in architecting and building large-scale, consumer-facing web applications.
• Strong focus on creating value for customers with a user-centric approach.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Leadership mindset with the ability to mentor and inspire other engineers.
• Deep knowledge of APIs and experience in API design discussions.
• Extensive experience solving complex caching, observability, and performance challenges.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with backend technologies like Redis, Kafka, MySQL, and Terraform.
• Extensive SEO experience.
• Experience with GraphQL and Next.js.
• Experience leading the migration of monolithic codebases to microservices/front-ends.
• Proven experience in Design System/Component UI library creation and management.

Location
