About The Role
As a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer at Vanna Health, you’ll be an integral part of our cross-functional technology team. Our team is small but mighty, consisting of a product manager, a product designer, an engineering manager, and several other full-stack engineers. We value autonomy, work-life balance, and prioritize code quality, automated testing, and the developer experience. Your work will encompass both frontend and backend development, and you’ll have the opportunity to engage with nearly all parts of the codebase at Vanna.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Vanna Connect, our internal product used by our Care Team to enhance the health and well-being of individuals with serious mental illness (SMI).
- Collaborate closely with clinical and care teams to ensure a thoughtful balance of technology and human touch.
- Engage in both frontend and backend development using TypeScript, React, Vite, Tailwind, Node, Fastify, and Postgres.
- Ensure security and compliance, particularly with the FHIR standard for patient data.
Skills and Experience
- 5+ years of engineering experience, with a proven track record of building and shipping features for world-class product experiences.
- Expertise in TypeScript: Comfortable with static typing, interfaces, and generics.
- Experience with modern Frontend JS Frameworks: Proficient in React, Vue, Svelte, or similar.
- Technical Flexibility: Understands the trade-offs of different technologies and is not dogmatic about their approach.
- Self-starter: Capable of working in ambiguous environments, gathering requirements, and crafting plans to complete projects independently.
- Excellent communication skills: Able to convey complex ideas clearly in Slack and over video calls, with an empathetic approach to remote work.
- Attention to detail: Values the importance of details in their work.
Nice-to-Haves
- Startup experience: Previous experience working on small teams at small companies.
- Healthcare experience: Familiarity with HIPAA, HL7, FHIR, EHRs, etc.
