Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Machine Learning Scientist to innovate and develop state-of-the-art e-commerce technologies across a wide range of applications within our platform. This role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about machine learning and have a proven track record of delivering high-quality production solutions. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, capable of independent work, and ready to contribute from day one.

Responsibilities

• Drive the end-to-end development of ML solutions, from ideation and prototyping to deployment and scaling in production environments. These solutions include recommender systems, natural language processing, and computer vision.
• Collaborate with data scientists/engineers to continuously improve model features and ensure that data contracts are met.
• Mentor and support junior team members.
• Analyze large, complex datasets to extract insights and identify patterns that can inform model development.
• Rapidly prototype and iterate machine learning solutions to evaluate feasibility and effectiveness.
• Communicate actionable insights and results to cross-functional teams, including product managers and business stakeholders, to inform strategic decisions.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in machine learning and apply them to enhance our products.
• Conduct offline evaluation of machine learning models and establish a correlation between online A/B tests and offline metrics.

Required Skills

• Minimum of three years of industry experience in machine learning or data science, with a proven track record of leading projects and delivering scalable solutions.
• Demonstrated expertise in Recommender Systems and Computer Vision.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and quantitative background.
• Proficient Python programming skills with the ability to write production-quality code.
• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop/Spark and/or cloud technologies.
• Excellent collaborator and eager to learn and grow.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Willingness to learn new tools and flexibility to adapt to different deployment pipelines.

Nice to Have

• Experience in deploying and maintaining ML models in production environments.
• Familiarity with Java and/or Scala.
• Experience working with Natural Language Processing.
• Previous hands-on experience with LLMs, transformers, and/or vision transformers.
• Previous history of writing and reviewing technical papers.

Education

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent). Ph.D. degree preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) with 5 years of relevant work experience.
