Job Overview
We are seeking a Senior Machine Learning Scientist to join our dynamic team at lastminute.com, a leader in the European travel-tech industry. This role is based in Madrid, Spain, but offers remote work flexibility in accordance with local laws.
Responsibilities
- Develop pseudo-realtime machine learning solutions for real-world big data challenges.
- Create ranking and recommendation algorithms to enhance customer experiences.
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team including other scientists, engineers, and project managers.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in machine learning or a related field.
- Proficient in supervised and unsupervised learning techniques.
- Experienced with reinforcement learning concepts like Multi-Armed Bandit and Markov Decision Processes.
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL, and familiarity with key libraries like scikit-learn, Pandas, and MLflow.
- Knowledge of deep learning frameworks such as Keras or PyTorch.
Additional Skills (Desirable)
- Creative problem-solving abilities.
- Continuous desire to learn and collaborate.
- Familiarity with Spark is a plus.
