Job Overview
Compassion International is seeking a Senior Node/React Developer to join our Innovation & New Products group. This team is dedicated to ideating, testing, creating, and scaling new products and innovations to release exponentially more children from poverty. As a Senior Developer, you will play a crucial role in implementing exciting, lovable new products and bringing them to market through agile and iterative methods.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Provide senior-level application software design and development services and technical leadership for existing architecture or new deployments.
- React Native Development: Design and implement React Native applications, develop best practices, and serve as a mentor in this technology.
- Node.js and AWS: Build APIs and capabilities using Node.js within an AWS-centered loosely-coupled architecture.
- Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, other engineers, and partner teams to transform visionary ideas into a shipping product that delights users.
- Standards and Specifications: Gather requirements, develop specifications, and adhere to approved standards in software development.
- Complex Program Logic: Lead the development of complex program logic for new, multi-faceted applications or analyze and modify logic in existing applications.
- Cross-functional Teams: Serve on cross-functional project teams as a subject matter expert on data processes, data governance, and application systems.
Qualifications
- Experience: 10+ years of relevant software development experience, with at least 5 years in React Native.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- Product Development: Proven experience in developing and shipping consumer tech products.
- Customer Focus: Strong passion for working backwards from the customer to create lovable products.
- Team Collaboration: Experience partnering with engineering, design, and operations teams.
