Senior Python Developer

Job Overview

Nymbus is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Python Developer to join our team. This role is pivotal in maintaining and modernizing our existing system components, primarily developed in Python and Jython. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database management systems, experience with industry-standard database data model management tools, and proficiency in Python and Java.

Key Responsibilities

Database Management: Evaluate and transition from a custom database management framework to an industry-standard solution. Maintain data layer consistency between environments using relational and optionally non-relational database concepts.
Database Migration Tools: Utilize tools such as Flyway, Liquibase, or similar technologies. Apply version control principles to database schema changes.
SQL and Database Scripting: Write and optimize SQL queries, scripts, and database procedures.
Source Control Management: Manage database schema versions using SCM tools like Git, SVN, or Mercurial.
CI/CD Pipelines: Implement CI/CD principles and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI) for database deployments.
ORM Tools: Knowledge of Object-Relational Mapping tools (e.g., Hibernate, Entity Framework, Sequelize) is advantageous.
Jython Expertise: Learn and maintain existing system components developed in Jython, with the objective of modernizing and improving these components.

Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in database management and architecture. Extensive knowledge of database design and automated management of the data layer.
Programming: Minimum 5 years in a Python/Jython development role with at least 1 year using Jython extensively.
Remote Work: Experience and preference for working 100% remote and with a distributed team.

Salary & Benefits

Salary: €135,000 - €150,000 annually.
