About the Role
Join the Red Hat Engineering team as a Software Engineer, where you will be involved in developing and containerizing software for deployment on OpenShift. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud-native technologies and container orchestration using Kubernetes. You will be responsible for creating operators, modifying configurations for optimal performance, and ensuring the software meets the latest standards and requirements.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Team Members: Work closely with other engineers during the requirement analysis, design, and development phases. Integrate new applications with existing systems to enhance functionality.
- Cloud-native Development: Take charge of developing and containerizing software for deployment on OpenShift. Build and maintain Kubernetes operators using Operator-SDK and the GO programming language.
- Automation and Integration: Develop and maintain content for the Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, focusing on automating cloud solutions. Design and implement CI/CD pipelines and other DevOps solutions.
- Performance and Monitoring: Install and configure OpenShift and Kubernetes systems as per specific requirements. Utilize tools like Prometheus and Grafana for monitoring and logging. Analyze performance data to recommend improvements.
- Code Contribution: Contribute to the software engineering team by using Git workflows to manage code.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of experience with OpenShift, Kubernetes, and related DevOps tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, or GitOps.
- Proficiency in programming languages like Java or Go and experience with Linux command line tools.
- Familiarity with code repository tools such as GitHub and GitLab.
