Nevis Security is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Architect to provide technical leadership and guidance for our engineering teams. As a Senior Software Architect, you will play a crucial role in defining software architecture and technology strategy, working closely with engineering, product management, customer success, and SRE teams, as well as external partners and customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product management, customer success, senior leadership, external partners, and customers to understand and discuss requirements and long-term product strategy.
• Develop a deep understanding of Nevis’ value proposition and work with the Engineering and SRE teams to define software architecture and technology strategy that meets product and business needs.
• Deliver technology roadmaps, architecture blueprints, and software design concepts.
• Lead technology discussions and present architecture and technical solutions to internal and external parties.
• Support teams in planning and estimations, especially for risky or novel development tasks.
• Participate in code and design reviews of complex and novel features.
• Provide support in handling escalations and participate in post-mortems if necessary.
• Follow industry trends on software technology, best practices, and security domain-specific topics, applying this knowledge in technical decisions.
• Implement prototypes and PoCs for new features and technologies, evaluate and present results.
• Shape and improve the methodology, practices, and tools used by engineering.
• Guide the development of technical skills in the engineering community through mentoring, training, and shaping the overall engineering culture.
• Participate in hiring and support the onboarding of newcomers.
• Lead pre-sales activities on the engineering side if needed.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc degree in STEM with 7+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• Experience in a technical leadership or architect role.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
• Analytical, clear-thinking, and pragmatic, with a result-oriented approach.
• Strong prioritization and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to foster innovation and act as a change agent.
• Technical coaching and mentoring skills, along with the ability to deliver technical training.
• Knowledge of modern architecture patterns relevant for cloud and hybrid deployment modes.
• Experience with SaaS delivery model including operations.
• Advanced Java programming skills.
• Experience with enterprise, web, and cloud-based application development and related technologies (e.g., Angular, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, RDBMS, OpenTelemetry).
• Cybersecurity domain knowledge is a plus (e.g., OpenID Connect, SAML).
• Knowledge of modern development methodologies, tools, and best practices (CI/CD, auto-testing, release management, etc.).
• Understanding of non-functional characteristics like scalability, security, and high availability.

Location

This position is based in Budapest, Hungary, with a hybrid work model allowing for both on-site and off-site work.
