Job Summary
The Senior Software Engineer, Financial Systems at Universal Orlando Resort is a pivotal role focused on maintaining and enhancing financial software applications to ensure smooth operations across the organization. This position involves analyzing, designing, creating, and maintaining software solutions, particularly within financial systems.
Responsibilities
- Provide system support for day-to-day operations of financial systems.
- Use established development and support tools to meet Service Level Agreements.
- Liaise with other technical staff to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems across all Parks Technology locations.
- Collaborate with internal partners in conceptualizing and development of new software programs and applications.
- Directly work with Parks Technology management and regularly meet with the user community.
- Participate in the definition, development, and documentation of business requirements, objectives, deliverables, and specifications on a project-by-project basis.
- Support various hardware and software upgrades and integration, including IBMi OS patching.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, IT, Business required.
- 5+ years of work experience in an IT Design, Development and Support function.
- Experience supporting financial applications in planning, execution of installations, and upgrades in support of a multi-location application.
- Proficiency in general programming/scripting languages, RPG programming, SQL coding, and CL programming.
- Experience with database foundations for modeling, configuration, and information management is preferred.
- Hospitality or Entertainment industry experience is a plus.
Additional Information
This role requires 24/7 on-call support on a rotational basis and is based in Orlando, Florida. The position involves both on-call and on-site responsibilities, ensuring that all recommended solutions are sound and effectively meet the business needs.
