Join Blizzard Entertainment as a Senior Software Engineer in Service Technologies
Blizzard Entertainment is seeking a talented and experienced Software Engineer to join our Service Technologies team. This role is pivotal in designing, implementing, and maintaining our internal applications for customer support, ensuring an epic experience for both our players and Game Masters.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Implement Solutions: Develop innovative solutions to enhance the customer support experience for Blizzard customers and Game Masters.
- Technical Leadership: Provide leadership in backend systems development across Service Technologies.
- Collaboration: Work closely with business analysts, designers, producers, and partner team members throughout the development process.
- Documentation and Best Practices: Document and share best practices with engineers across Blizzard.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve live operations issues, occasionally during non-traditional work hours.
- Mentorship: Mentor junior engineers within the Service Technologies team.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in C#, with surface knowledge of Java and TypeScript.
- Application Development: Experience in developing web-based and desktop applications.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Passion: A passion for software development and continuous learning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Blizzard Games Knowledge: Familiarity with Blizzard games and services.
- Cloud Experience: Experience with Google Cloud Platform and Amazon Web Services.
- Containerization: Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Analytics and Reporting: Experience with observability, analytics, and reporting solutions.
- Team Collaboration: Experience collaborating in large multi-disciplinary teams.
- Open Source Contributions: Contributions to open source and personal projects.
Work Environment
This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Austin, TX, or Irvine, CA.
