Join the Snowflake Team as a Senior Software Engineer - LLM
About the Role
The Snowflake Machine Learning Platform team is on a mission to enable customers to bring their machine learning and deep learning workloads to Snowflake. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in evolving Snowflake’s core platform architecture to support state-of-the-art machine learning workloads, including large language models (LLMs).
Key Responsibilities
- Define and own the roadmap for machine learning platforms and tools, working collaboratively with senior architects, product managers, and team leadership.
- Develop distributed training infrastructure to train and fine-tune LLMs.
- Optimize inference processes to efficiently serve LLMs.
- Collaborate with engineering partner teams to enhance LLM development velocity and capabilities.
- Support team members in delivering high-quality technical solutions.
Ideal Requirements & Qualifications
- 8+ years of industry experience in designing, building, and supporting internet-serving infrastructure, machine learning platforms, and services.
- Experience with pre-training and fine-tuning foundation models.
- Proficiency in frameworks such as SKLearn, XGBoost, PyTorch, and TensorFlow.
- Fluent in Python; experience with C++ and Java is a plus.
- Strong collaboration skills with data scientists, business analysts, and machine learning infrastructure teams.
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related fields, or equivalent experience.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary range: $214,000 - $327,750 annually.
- Eligible for Snowflake’s bonus and equity plan.

Location
This position is based in San Mateo, CA, with opportunities to work in Bellevue, WA.
