Join Snowflake as a Senior Data Scientist
Snowflake is seeking a talented Senior Data Scientist to join our team and contribute to the development of data applications built on our platform. This role is pivotal in driving strategic initiatives and enhancing our product offerings through data-driven insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive High-Impact Initiatives: Lead initiatives for the global data application architecture, providing a foundation for critical telemetry and events to track data app usage and consumption patterns.
- Innovate and Build Data Platforms: Develop platforms to analyze large datasets, uncover feature-usage patterns, identify system issues, and suggest performance enhancements.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with engineers, product managers, and executives to inform product decision-making and identify opportunities to create more value for our customers.
- Develop Data Pipelines and Models: Build high-quality data pipelines and architect the right data models to support product development.
- Create Analytical Frameworks: Develop dashboards and analytical frameworks to monitor system performance and availability.
- Support Executive Reporting: Provide insights and answers for executive team reporting, publications, and industry reports.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Educational Background: MS/Ph.D. in a quantitative discipline such as Math, Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Technical Expertise: Expert-level experience with SQL and relational data, and proficiency in Python, including libraries such as scikit-learn, numpy, and pandas.
- Experience with Large-Scale Data: Proven experience working with large-scale machine-generated data, such as log, application, or customer-usage data.
- Fluency with MPP Databases: Experience with MPP databases like Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or Vertica.
- Data Storytelling Skills: Ability to translate data analysis into actionable insights for business leaders and technical stakeholders.
- Adaptability: Thrive in a dynamic environment, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to tackle complex, unstructured problems.
