Join the Snowflake Team as a Senior Software Engineer - LLM
About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Snowflake Machine Learning Platform team, you will be at the forefront of enabling customers to bring their machine learning and deep learning workloads to Snowflake. Our mission is to build a scalable machine learning and data platform that integrates seamlessly with Snowflake's core architecture, allowing customers to leverage the power of AI and machine learning, including large language models (LLMs).
Key Responsibilities
- Roadmap Development: Collaborate with senior architects, product managers, and team leadership to define and own the roadmap for machine learning platforms and tools.
- Infrastructure Development: Develop distributed training infrastructure to train and fine-tune LLMs, and work on inference optimizations to efficiently serve these models.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work with other engineering teams to improve LLM development velocity and capabilities.
- Technical Leadership: Support team members in delivering high-quality technical solutions and innovations.
Ideal Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: 8+ years in designing, building, and supporting internet-serving infrastructure, machine learning platforms, and services.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, with experience in frameworks such as SKLearn, XGBoost, PyTorch, and TensorFlow. Experience in C++ and Java is a plus.
- Educational Background: BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related fields, or equivalent experience.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to work with data scientists, business analysts, and machine learning infrastructure teams.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary Range: $214,000 - $327,750 annually.
- Additional Compensation: Eligible for Snowflake’s bonus and equity plan.

Location
This position is based in Bellevue, WA or San Mateo, CA.
