Role Overview
As a Senior Data Engineer at Kestra Financial, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for modernizing advisor solutions to a next-generation cloud platform. You will report directly to the Lead Data Engineer and work collaboratively to improve data quality and orchestrate data using modern cloud tools.
Responsibilities
- Design and build data pipelines using Azure, Snowflake Cloud, and other cloud-native technologies.
- Develop data models to derive insights, improve operational efficiency, and monitor performance metrics.
- Manage both inbound and outbound data processes, ensuring high data quality and integration with existing systems.
- Collaborate with various teams including Application Engineering, DBA, Infrastructure, and Project Management to deliver high-quality data solutions.
- Write code based on Test-driven Development principles to meet data quality standards.
- Automate data testing and integrate with monitoring systems to ensure continuous data integrity.
Skills and Experience
- Proficient in Azure Cloud Services including Data Factory, SQL database, Functions, Data Lake, and Databricks.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Scala, and C#.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL Server database, including scripting, profiling, and optimization.
- Experience with Business Intelligence tools like Tableau and PowerBI.
- Familiarity with Big Data tools such as Spark, Snowflake, and Kafka.
- Preferably with a background in Financial Services, specifically in Wealth Management or Independent Broker Dealer/RIA.
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, MIS/Information Management, Engineering, or a related field.
